Duplex ultrasound scanning allows us to map out the veins in the leg. It also incorporates a pulsed-Doppler flow-velocity detector allowing us to see blood flow in the veins. Color distinguishes arteries from veins. It is a simple test that takes 20 to 30 minutes and is done in the office.
